(BUCKSPORT) - Third and fourth grade students at Miles Lane School gathered together to share his or her idea that will help the town of Bucksport move forward after the Verso Mill closed its doors.

The mayor and town manager attended the forum to listen to what the students want to see change.

"I want to have more restaurants, a water park that is indoors, and to turn the mall into a shopping area," said fourth grade student Elsa Theobald.

She stood at the front, as did many other students, and listed off ideas and assets.

The Mayor, Town Councillors, and the Town Manager attended and spoke briefly to the students.

"We are asking several of them to come to the upcoming Thursday night town council meeting. We want them to share their ideas to everyone involved with helping the town move forward," said Town Manager, Derek Goodine.

Goodine also said they are planning to speak with high school students next to see how the wants, needs, and ideas differ.

    Cruiser crash

Icy roads might have been the cause of a scary wreck involving a state police cruiser. It happened this morning on the interstate between Medway and Lincoln...A trooper had just exited his cruiser to check out a vehicle that had spun into the median. That's when the driver of a tractor trailer truck from LasVegas lost control of his rig and ended up crashing into both the cruiser and the vehicle that was in the median. Fortunately, no one was injured, but all the vehicles are badly damaged. It was raining at the time and all the water was freezing when it hit the roads.
