Levant Man Arrested After Police Stand-Off

LEVANT -A Levant man is behind bars after causing a stand-off with the Maine State Police Tactical Team last night.

 

At 8:30 Tuesday night, 40 year-old Gary Bouchard was allegedly intoxicated and threatening people with a baseball bat, at 588 Mudgett Road in Levant.

 

Initial reports said there was a gunshot before police arrived.

 

Two victims and neighbors were evacuated for their own safety.

 


According to police, Bouchard barricaded himself inside of the residence until he was arrested by the Tactical Team without incident.

 


Bouchard is now at the Penobscot County Jail facing, Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening, Domestic Violence Terrorizing, and Criminal Threatening and Creating a Police Stand-Off, charges.
