BANGOR - Maine public broadcasting will be partnering with Darling's this summer to help get kids to read.
The two organizations will be hosting a summer book drive. New or slightly used children's books will be collected at all Darling's locations, as well as Maine Public's studios in Portland, Lewiston and Bangor.
You can drop off books throughout July and August.
Jay Darling said "We've been partnering with Maine Public Broadcasting and Literacy Volunteers for years now and just trying to get Maine kids a love of reading and help em grow."
The collected books will then be handed out by the Darling's Ice Cream Truck.
There will also be two special literacy events later this summer.
