Collins responds to latest republican health care bill

STATEWIDE- U.S. Senator Susan Collins released a statement Monday evening in response to the newly proposed republican health care bill.

"I have a number of concerns with the Graham-Cassidy proposal, including the fundamental changes to the Medicaid program, the effect on premiums for older Americans, and the fact that the bill could allow insurers to charge higher premiums for people with pre-existing conditions. In addition, I am very concerned by projections cited by the Maine Hospital Association, which show that the bill would cut Medicaid and other federal health care spending in Maine by more than $1 billion in the next 10 years. I will be examining carefully the forthcoming CBO analysis," said Collins.

We will continue to follow this story as it unfolds.

People with disabilities enjoy a day at camp

DEDHAM- It seems like just yesterday members of Downeast Horizons were on Phillips Lake setting up Camp Capella for the season.

Now, with just a few weeks left of summer, they got a chance to celebrate with the annual barbecue cookout.

The event giving children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities a chance to spend a day at camp in a comfortable setting...and hopefully take the skills learned with them into their everyday lives.
